Suit up for Summer: Day 1

Swimming at the pool or taking a vacation to the beach are what make summer so much fun! Swimsuits...not so much. We know there are tons of women out there that absolutely dread putting on a swimsuit. Why would anyone want to wear something out in public that covers a little more (if that) than what you would normally wear UNDER your clothes, right? Wrong! We want you to know that not all swimwear is created equal, and not all are secretly made by demons who want to humiliate you.
So throw those old chlorine-bleached tank tops and shorts away. Our guide to your best swimsuit is the perfect weapon for your best summer ever! Each day this week, we will discuss what to look for in a swimsuit to best suit your body type. As an added bonus, we will also be discussing what Mel Boteri bag will be perfect for you. We want you to know you can have your fun in the sun and look & feel your best too!

Body Type: Apple. Stacey London and Clinton Kelly (from TLC's What not to Wear) have the perfect solution if this body type describes you.  It is so simple and you only have to remember one word: RUCHING. Ruching is a fancy way of saying "gathers at the sides". J.Crew's Ruche Femme Tank Swimsuit is great for someone with a smaller bust, while Victoria's Secret Firm Control Retro One Piece is perfect for someone needing a little more support.

And believe it or not, handbags can be used to flatter your body type as well! The main trick to picking a flattering bag for you is getting one that is opposite of your body shape. Since the Apple body type is more rounded, choose a bag that is more rectangular. We love the Red Croc-Embossed Sammie Tote, or if you prefer something a bit bigger and structured the Sandy Dollar Cynthia makes for the perfect companion to for your summer fun in the sun!
